Media Center contains a wide variety of print and non-print media for
use by students and teachers. Materials housed in the media center
include: books, videos, DVDs, audio cassettes and CDs, computer
software, and online databases.
are encouraged to use the Media Center on a regular basis for research,
pleasure reading, and school-related computer applications. In order to
do internet research, students must display their Lakota Student ID
card with appropriate AUP identification. Students may access the Media
Center by coming as a class or by obtaining a pass from one of their
teachers. Regular media center hours are from 7:30-2:15 p.m.
may be checked out for two weeks. Most reference materials may be
checked out on an overnight basis. Students are expected to return
materials on time and in good condition.
Students are expected to
observe proper behavior when in the Media Center. This includes: having
a valid purpose (research, school-related computer use, pleasure
reading), maintaining a quiet atmosphere, respecting staff members and
fellow patrons, and using materials with care.
