Media Center

Media Center

The Media Center contains a wide variety of print and non-print media for use by students and teachers. Materials housed in the media center include: books, videos, DVDs, audio cassettes and CDs, computer software, and online databases.

Students are encouraged to use the Media Center on a regular basis for research, pleasure reading, and school-related computer applications. In order to do internet research, students must display their Lakota Student ID card with appropriate AUP identification. Students may access the Media Center by coming as a class or by obtaining a pass from one of their teachers. Regular media center hours are from 7:30-2:15 p.m.

Books may be checked out for two weeks. Most reference materials may be checked out on an overnight basis. Students are expected to return materials on time and in good condition.

Students are expected to observe proper behavior when in the Media Center. This includes: having a valid purpose (research, school-related computer use, pleasure reading), maintaining a quiet atmosphere, respecting staff members and fellow patrons, and using materials with care.
