Regular attendance is expected!

If your student is tardy, please send the student into the school to receive a tardy pass. Parents DO NOT need to come in the building to sign in their student.

If a student is absent, parents should call the school attendance line at 644-1130 opt 0.

If a student is taken out of school during the school day, a parent must come into the main office and present a picture ID before the student will be called out of class.

For safety reasons students must leave their coats, hats, and book bags in their locker during the school day.

Every Friday we have an electronic newsletter (Plains Pulse) which is emailed to parents.

Students have the opportunity to earn a Plains Perk – this is obtained by exuding above the line behavior! This could be helping out a classmate or teacher, turning in lost items or improvement in classwork or behavior.

Item Drop Off is located in the Main office. Cubby boxes are numbered 1 through 9. Please select a box to put your students Item in – fill out a form with your students first name, last name, and cubby #. Our Office Aides will run the pass to the teacher who will then decided when to send your student down to pick up their item.

Students less than one mile from Plains Junior will not receive transportation to and from school.

Bus assignments for students qualifying for a bus will be available online in early August.

A student is expected to ride their regular bus. Riding the bus home with another student (Bus Share) was suspended for the 2021-2022 school year. A decision on the 22-23 school year will be made in early August.

Students are allowed to walk home from school only with parent’s written permission. Walking Permission Forms can be found on the Plains Junior website. Click on About to access the page and scroll down to attendance (walking to school).
