8/21 vs Rapid Run

The 7th grade volleyball team won their first game vs Rapid Run last night in an exciting 3 game set where each point was just as exciting as the last. The win came due to an entire team amazing effort. Great win ladies!

8th grade dominated in two games with great passes by the defense, hard hits by Hailey Skoog and Katie Woycke, and a long serving run the second game by London Bronson. Way to go ladies!

We are back in action Today vs Hopewell right here at Plains Jr. come on out and cheer us on! 7th grade will start at 4:30 and 8th grade will play after approx.. 5:30.

8/27 vs Creekside

The 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams headed to Creekside yesterday for what was a dominating win for both teams.

The 7th grade team helped their 3-0 record with great serving by Megan Fuller, Olivia Schmidt, and Seerat Kaur. With great attacks at the net by Margo Petterson, Maddie Turner, and Jonaeyah Edwards.

The 8th grade team also advanced their 3-0 record with great sets by Kori Vonderhaar and Carly Gogolewski and excellent serves by Reese Volk and Paulina Hasbach.

Great job by both teams. The girls play again tomorrow at Sycamore to hopefully extend their win streak to 4-0!

9/3 Liberty

Girls Volleyball took two last night versus Liberty.  7
th Grade played a marathon match, going 3 sets but coming out victorious and remaining undefeated with their record now at 5-0.  After being up for nearly the entire first set, things slipped away late, and they ended up losing the first set.  Coming back in the second set and despite numerous service errors, they were able to take the second set going into overtime action and winning 28-26.  With their undefeated record on the line, it was a back and forth third set and again, overcoming service errors, they took a lead midway through the set and secure the victory.  Awesome match.

8th Grade was also involved in a tight contest however they were able to get the job done in two sets.  Neither Plains nor Liberty ever got a huge as the match stayed close up until the 20 point mark in both sets…that’s when Plains toughened up and locked down the defense, took advantage of a couple Liberty overpasses, turned it over to the big hitters and pulled ahead for good.  After the win, the 8th grade girls have a 4-1 record and look to extend that this Thursday.

Girls Volleyball has another home match on Thursday versus Wilson. Come out early and support the girls.  Slight change of schedule as the 8th graders will take the floor first and play at 4:30, with 7th grade to follow the conclusion of the 8th grade match.

Also reminder that today is Volley For The Cure at Lakota West.  Come out for a great cause and watch Freshman at 4:30, JV at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:30 with many other games, activities, food, and raffles.
